The Death of Your Pet Teaches You Detachment

THE DEATH OF YOUR PET TEACHES YOU DETACHMENT

Ela Singh writes:

“September 4, 2012, my lovely dog, Leechi, died in my arms. Her death has completely devastated me. We were soul mates. I have still not gotten over her death and don’t think I ever will. My question is: “Will she come back to me in my life?” Please answer. Thank you.”

Oh my Holy Spirit! What can You say to comfort Ela?

Well, I cannot promise her anything about her dear doggie, Leechi, returning to her in this particular life. The important thing is to go ahead with her own life intact and take with her the things that Leechi brought to her in the first place. A dog is just an innocent partner in a human’s life.

Independence is the key to spirituality and that shapes and determines the strength of the human soul. Too much dependence upon other people or your pets hampers the progress of your own soul. So does overwhelming grief because you cannot see clearly ahead when you are mourning so heavily that you wish only for the past to continue.

No, Leechi is not coming back to you but she will be waiting at the Gate when you come through it. You must cheer up and carry on your life without her! It’s not impossible, you know, and there are strengths within you which she is now causing you to discover.

People! Don’t do this to your pets, or to your loved ones, when they pass on! Let them go! You would not like it that much if someone living clings to you, psychically, mentally, spiritually, once you pass over into the wider world beyond life. Just let them have their freedom while you soldier on with your earth life. It will all get sorted out in time.

This could well be your Lesson in Detachment!”
