Your Pet Does Live on Forever, In Memory; In All The Events Of Your Life!

Deandra writes –

After losing my beautiful cat, Randy, I felt the same way most of you do. It is hard to accept. She was everywhere, in everything. I cannot remember a time without her. For 16 years and eight months she was by my side. I love her still.

You must go through the stages of grief. They are all in a better place waiting to see you again. No pain, no suffering; nothing but peace and happiness! Try to remember that. It helps. Cry! Get it out. Love is an emotion not easily forgotten.

Pets are beautiful and amazing. None will ever be forgotten. Do a special project to remember them with. And every birthday and Christmas, still celebrate as if they were there. because, believe it or not, they are right there beside you. Forever!

Deandra

My goodness, Deandra! What a beautiful testimony about your experience after your dear cat, Randy, died! Now you know that these promises of their continuation….. SOMEWHERE……are true. As you see so clearly now, it’s easier to feel her “with you” when your emotions are not so full of that early grief. Thanks for that assurance for the rest of us.

Oh my Holy Spirit! Do You want to add anything to this lovely reminder?

“Could you tell her, from All of Us, Up Here, that your pets do want you, in probably, the same degree that you want them. But, they don’t get too upset about it because Time moves differently for them.

They used to be free of Time and its considerations, until they became domesticated. Now, its passage is just sort of a blur and doesn’t actually feel very bad; which you all will discover when you calm down, as well.

Time flies when you’re having fun; and it’s very pleasant for them Up Here. But, they’ll be waiting to greet you eagerly.”

I’m going to reprint a blog about this subject, published many months ago; having to do with doing art projects inspired by your departed pet.  Make something ceramic, paint a picture, produce felt-cutout gifts for family members in the shape of your sweet buddy.

Christmas is so near; why not have a family art event around the dining room table by providing watercolor paints, canvas or sketch books, colored pencils, scissors, fabric, pin and earring backings, knitting supplies, pipe cleaners, beads, and such.

Go to a craft store for some great ideas and professional materials, plus a whole lot of advice. Dig out your photos to suggest ideas and poses to copy and then let everyone render your little darling as best they can. I guarantee, there will be much hearty laughter and some good photo opportunities. The results would make great Christmas tree decorations, too! Here’s that previous post –

AN ARTISTIC CHALLENGE TO ANYONE WHO IS MOURNING THE LOSS OF A PET

I have just arrived in Eastern Europe, in the beautiful town of Tallinn, Estonia; just across the water from Helsinki, Finland, and nestled up to the Western border of Russia. It is soooo beautiful here and I invite you to visit my travel website, www.heyboomers.com to see some pictures of the Old Town of Tallinn.

But, I began to think of all of you who have written to me on this blogsite about the terrible grief you are feeling after your beloved pet has died. In addition to coming to grips with the  idea that they have survived death and will meet you when you show up in their new and lovely dimension, perhaps you can do something else to help yourself recover from your sadness. Here are some examples that I have found in Tallinn’s gift shops…. I know that you can find many more surrounding you in your own hometown.

Why not play around with this idea and see if you can land on some handcraft to depict your darling, departed one? It can’t hurt and it just might feel wonderful. There’s so much instruction on the internet or in craft books. And then, the idea is to Give it away! Christmas or birthday presents or fond mementos…. or home decorations.

Technically, the idea is to externalize the pain and use your hands to wrest it into something beautiful. And then, to share this special pet with others. What did your pet look like? Can you make a pair of earrings and wear your sweetie pie? Or a pin? Or a painted rock?
